From Food Scraps to Soil Food:
Starting a Community Drop-Off Program

Learn how ReWild Long Island / East Hampton Compost is building awareness of food waste, diverting scraps from the waste stream and enriching local soils.

The initiative is a collaboration between ReWild Long Island and the Town of East Hampton. Drop-off sites and educational outreach are managed by volunteers along with students participating in the ReWild Summer Program to Fight Hunger and Climate Change (applications for this summer are open April 1-May 1, 2024).

Dive into the dirt with us to gain valuable insights into the challenges and rewards of piloting an all-volunteer initiative, as well as actionable strategies for starting one in your community.

This webinar , in collaboration with Table2Ground, is part of Food Waste Prevention Week across the United States. Learn more about food waste and how to take action to reduce it at home, at work, and in our communities and see the full list of webinars and events at FoodWastePreventionWeek.com.
