In-Person Workshop: Start Plants from Native Seeds

  • The Vine Church 43960 CR 48, Middle Rd Southold, NY 11971 United States (map)

Following up on our seed swaps and seed collecting in the field events, we will start to sow our seeds... for success in spring!

Prepare for sowing success. Learn best practices for after seed collecting, cleaning and storing seeds and most importantly sowing, of many types of native flowers, grasses, and trees.

Join us for a hands-on sowing event with Cornelius Schmid, seed nerd, and propagation expert. We'll meet at The Vine Church from 10am-12pm, 43960 CR 48, Middle Rd, Southold, NY 11971 with our friends Cornelius, Master Gardeners, new gardeners and the Southold Peconic Civic Association. A list of supplies that you will need will be shared prior to the workshop, as we are working on getting donations of materials. Gather seeds, plug trays, Garden Markers, labels and potting mix just in case.  This is a free event, but donations are appreciated so that we can continue our educational endeavors of spreading the word about the benefits of native plants and rewilding.
