Native Gardens & Community Projects

The Native GARDEN At Custer Preserve:

Through the partnership with Southold Peconic Civic Association - Environmental Advocacy Committee (SPCA EC), the Town of Southold, ReWild Long Island, and the Group For The East End - 3500 sq. ft of overgrown, invasive plant species was overturned and replaced with new prosperous soil and plants! Under the guidance of Maggie Muzante ambitious volunteers destroyed weeds, adopted irrigation systems, and developed a beautiful garden that Custer Preserve needed.

15 Community gardens

Now in 2026, there are 15 recipients of the ReWild Community Gardens Program Grant across the North Fork. Go to /gardens to see the full list.
