Thanks ReWilders and Volunteers

Dear ReWilders,

Thank you all for making the Spring Plant Sale a safe and successful event.

Thanks to all ReWilders who made our Spring 2020 ReWild Native Plant Sale a great success. We distributed over 2500 plants over 75 varieties to 80 ReWilding homes, including some beautiful phlox, wild bergamont, foxglove, milkweed, elderberries and fragrant chokeberries. This was our most successful event so far, and we estimate that 45 families are new to adding native plants to your yards. Naturally, we did miss some of the varieties, but that is always the challenge of sourcing these hard to find varieties!

Our thanks to our partners, Rusty Schmidt and Cassandra Castano of Nelson Pope and Vorhees, who did all the hard work behind the scenes, co-ordinating between nurseries and their ever-changing inventory!

We are really proud of our volunteers who contributed in every way by writing plant labels, sorting plants, and attending to customers. Many volunteered their time time across the board in different aspects plus planned and planted at the Dodge Farm Homestead on Saturday!

Please email us if you want to volunteer in any way to further ReWilding on Long Island!

Here are some photos from Saturday’s fun event that drew attention from passersby (some asked to be  added to our mailing list). As you can see from these photos, we hit two birds with one stone. We safely distributed plants to customers while at the same time did some planting on site.

Please send any photos you took to admin@rewildlongisland.org.

Regards & Happy Spring!
