Join the East Hampton Natural Resources Department for a walk along the shore to check in on one of our smallest, most vulnerable neighbors: the piping plover. These little shorebirds nest right on the open beach, which makes them easy to miss and even easier to disturb, so every set of trained eyes helps.

We'll walk the beach together, learn how to spot nests and fledglings, and talk about what it takes to keep this threatened species coming back to our shores every year.

Bring water, sun protection and bug spray to stay comfortable out in the field!
