why sow seeds in winter?
Winter seed sowing is a simple way to plant seeds outdoors during the colder months, letting nature do the work. Seeds experience natural freezing and thawing cycles over winter, then germinate when conditions are right in spring.
The seeds of many native plants, and some vegetables, need exposure to cold temperatures in order to sprout.
