ReWild Garden at St. James Elementary School

This courtyard space was originally dedicated to Helen Ormond, a former teacher. It started as an early learning lab, transformed into a communal area, and even served as a chicken coop at one point. Since 2025, it has been converted into a native garden with the support of the ReWild Gardens Program. This native plant garden promotes climate resilience, supports biodiversity, and provides food and shelter for pollinators and wildlife.

We are committed to:

Spreading awareness of native plants

Supporting our resident pollinators and honey bees

Creating an outdoor space to support learning alongside nature

Building a community
