ReWild Garden at Syosset Public Libary

about Syosset Public Library

Striving for shared responsibility in protecting the environment while inspire collective action toward a more sustainable future, the Syosset Public Library is passionate about cultivating a healthy environment for the community to learn from and enjoy.

As a result, this public-facing native plant garden—affectionately named “Hobbiton Hills”—was established in 2026 by both staff of the library and ReWild. Through Hobbiton Hills, the library hopes to educate the community about supporting pollinators, encourage the use of native plants, promote sustainability, and serve as a model for other institutions.
