ReWild Treasurer & Finance Committee Search
Posted: October 9, 2026
ReWild Long Island is seeking volunteers to serve on our Board or Directors as Treasurer or Finance Committee member.
We are looking for people who care about our work to advance native plants, biodiversity, and sustainable landcare across Long Island—and who can help provide strong financial oversight and thoughtful fiscal strategy as we grow. This is a deeply rewarding role - help lead a growing movement that is improving our environment by unifying and engaging people with positive messages of hope and care.
ReWild works with an external bookkeeping and accounting firm. This Board role focuses on oversight: reviewing financial information, helping the Board understand ReWild’s financial position, strengthening financial processes and controls, supporting regulatory compliance, and contributing to budgeting and long-range fiscal strategy. It is not a day-to-day bookkeeping position.
We welcome people with financial leadership experience in nonprofit, corporate, small- or medium-business, or government settings. Familiarity with accounts, budgets, reporting, compliance, insurance and financial planning would be especially valuable; a professional accounting credential is not required.
We are looking for people who can make a two-year commitment of approximately two to four hours per week, with the understanding that workload fluctuates, and we help one another take breaks as necessary. Long Island residency is highly desirable but not essential.
If you may be interested, please email Raju@ReWildLongIsland.org with a short introduction and a few sentences about your relevant background. We will follow up on all inquiries with a conversation.
Thank you for helping ReWild Long Island continue to grow thoughtfully and responsibly.
ps: If you know someone who fits the role, for example, a recently retired friend looking for rewarding opportunities, please forward this along.
