Gather, sow, grow native plants
Join us for a two-part, hands-on workshop series exploring the rewarding process of growing native plants from seed. Whether you’re a seasoned gardener or just beginning your native plant journey, you’ll learn practical techniques to help cultivate plants that support local ecosystems, attract pollinators, and bring natural beauty to your garden.
Part 1: Gather and Prepare Seeds
Discover the first steps in growing native plants from seed! In this introductory workshop, you’ll learn how to identify and harvest seeds from native plants in the garden, when to collect them, and how to prepare them for cold sowing. We’ll explore the basics of seed collection and preparation, including how winter conditions can help certain native seeds germinate in the spring.
Along the way, connect with like-minded neighbors, share gardening experiences, and exchange tips and ideas for creating a thriving native plant garden.
Come ready to learn, ask questions, and get inspired to grow more native plants in your own backyard!
We will be outside in the garden, so rain will cancel
