Help care for an established native plant garden at the heart of Hendrickson park. This is a great way to support Long Island wildlife while learning about native plants that are established and beautiful. We generally meet here on the second Sunday of every month from 9-11 AM until the season ends.
A few of our activities include:
Planting native species and collecting seeds
Maintenance activities: pruning, weeding, watering
Learning about sustainability and local initiatives
Our priority is to have fun, get outside, and care for our environment—so come join us!
Please refer to specific location details on our South Nassau page, as the garden is within the park!
Please note: Volunteers with over 10 recorded hours will receive a 20% discount at our Spring and Fall Plant Sales. Please register for volunteer opportunities using the button below to help ensure these hours are recorded.
