The Oysterponds Elementary School is proud to partner with ReWild Long Island on this Native Species Pollinator Garden. The Oysterponds Elementary School Garden has been around since 2012 and acts as an outdoor educational space for our students and staff. Our garden also supports the district’s mission; to “educate and nurture the mind, body, and spirit of all students.”
Our garden is committed to:
Maintaining the native species which allows pollinators to forage for food and find a natural habitat.
Teaching the beneficial relationship between native species and our vegetable gardens as they support each other and provide greater productivity in both pollinators and yield.
Creating an outdoor learning space for students and further incorporating agriculture into each classroom.
If you’re interested in finding out more about our garden or what we do at Oysterponds Union Free School District, please visit our website at www.oysterponds.org. Thank you again to the North Fork Chapter of ReWild Long Island for making this happen.
