Port Washington Estates (PWEA) is a home-owners organization with a limited area, yet strong interest in improving the native biodiversity and appearance of their traffic islands. These common areas have long been neglected without regard for neighborhood aesthetics. Thanks to Town Councilmember Mariann Daliamonte, they have permission to transform this space into a native garden.
In 2025, PWEA welcomed a ReWild Garden to promote climate resilience, support biodiversity, and provide food and shelter to pollinators and wildlife, as well as increase local opportunities for the community to connect with nature.
