Windmill Village is a Senior Affordable Housing property opened in 1987, which was the first housing project on the eastern end of Long Island. At the housing complex, they serve the elder community and the mobility impaired residents who have been priced out of the housing market.
A group of 4 senior gardeners meets regularly to maintain their native garden. The four members participated in the ReWild Garden Design Workshop hosted in Winter 2025 to gain ownership over their garden, which was later planted in Spring 2025.
Windmill Village is home to many different kinds of people who live in a community that is quiet, clean, and safe from all walks of life.
We thank Whitmores Landscaping for contributing their service by clearing and preparing the space for the native plant garden at Windmill Village.
